Some experts have described effective groupings of strategies that help students dig deeply into reading selections. Some of the more often cited and used "mega-strategies" include:

1. Reciprocal Teaching - Predicting, Clarifying, Questioning, Summarizing.

2. SQ3R - Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review.
